Is it a good thing that exceptionally exclusive courses are in the Top 100 on Golf Digest and other lists? And that we celebrate when places won’t allow folks to play or join? Is that a good thing?

We’re not so sure.

These are just a few of the “new to me” courses I’ve discovered in recent weeks - there are so many that it’s hard to even begin to know when I could ever make it out to them. But these are the types of courses that are REALLY fun to add to an itinerary when you are going from Point A to Point B. I try to find these to add to others trips to fill in some travel time with the hope of breaking up a long drive (not, sadly, from your golf club) and these gems can often be one of the more fun discoveries of the trip.

A lot of factors go into whether you should take a caddie - one of them is whether caddies are single or double bag caddies. This is not a question about espresso (though feel free to load up on that, too).

Not every course requires the use of a caddie. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use this terrific service to enhance your round, lighten your load or just increase the vibes. Here are a few courses that we recommend doing just that.
